Foothill Ranch, California - Aug 16, 2005 - Aristos Logic, the industry leader in RAID Storage Processor(RSP™) technology, announced today that it has commenced volume shipments of its AL3300 FibreSlice™, the industry's first single chip solution based on the company's breakthrough RSP technology and Aristos Storage Kernel (ASK™) software, to Storage Technology Corporation.
The AL3300 FibreSlice device integrates Fibre Channel host and disk interfaces along with the RAID Storage Processor, a fabric of custom processing elements designed to accelerate the storage data path. The Aristos Storage Kernel offers advanced RAID functionality while providing OEM customers with a platform for developing differentiating storage management features. The modularity and scalability of the RAID Storage Processor architecture enables a leveraged development path to cost effective 2G/4G/8G Fibre Channel, Serial ATA, Serial Attached SCSI and iSCSI based solutions.
"We are pleased to work with Aristos Logic in incorporating its RAID Storage Processor technology into our FlexLine 600™ storage system," said Jay Seifert, Senior Manager of Disk Product marketing, at StorageTek® (Storage Technology Corporation, NYSE:STK). "The technology is a building block enabler for our development of industry leading, next generation of cost efficient capacity-centric storage systems that are a key component of data protection, online archive and fixed content solutions for our customers."
"Our alliance with StorageTek validates the transition from general purpose computing elements to purpose-built storage engines such as our RAID Storage Processor," said Anil Gupta, CEO of Aristos Logic. "StorageTek's worldwide base of enterprise class customers has stringent requirements for reliability, availability and performance. We are proud to be an integral part of the solution offered by StorageTek to their customers," added Gupta.
